A collection of 10 poems that began with Oblivion and ended with Desire.
The poems, in themselves, are not important. Some of them are not even so nice. Collectively, however, they represent a very real connection with life, as each one was written at a time when the feelings producing them were actually peaking.
In the matter of form, it is an accidental experiment with a new format. Oblivion turned out written in a particular style, and that style seemed to make sense for the others that followed. Essentially, each poem takes one feeling or emotion and analyzes it in a particular context peculiar to its author. Insofar as the feelings are very individual to the person who felt them, the interpretations are very individual as well, and germane only to the context in which they were experienced.
The irony remains, however, that the poems resonated with the psyches of several other individuals, entirely unconnected with and unaware of the events preceding the poems.
It would appear, therefore, that there is a possibility that these interpretations are not so peculiar after all…
Comments have ranged from appreciating the contents for being "touching", to condemning them for wallowing in "self pity". My own assessment is that they represent a purging of negatives that can otherwise fester and poison one inside.
No one disagrees, however, that the poems are expressive.
So, Gentle Reader, in celebration of expression, I present to you: Oblivion - 10 Dark Poems of Closure.
